Buffalo Hunt Theme, Graphics, and Sounds
The American wilderness often provides stunning backdrops and artwork for online slots, and Buffalo Hunt is no exception.
When they start playing, players are greeted by a beautiful desert sunset and icons depicting card suits, animals native to America, and the slot’s Chieftain of the Wild symbol. Each icon, excluding the suits, becomes animated whenever it forms a winning pattern. We are especially impressed by the Buffalo symbol. Its winning animation reveals an entire herd of buffalo charging forward, and the overall quality of this sequence is stellar.
The background soundtrack complements the game nicely, though players can enable or disable it at any time. In addition, the interface lets you customize the auto mode, use a button that instantly raises the bet to the maximum amount, and access an informative paytable with just a few clicks.
Buffalo Hunt Symbols and Payouts
There are more than 1,000 ways to win in Buffalo Hunt, and winning combinations are formed by identical symbols landing on adjacent reels, starting from the leftmost reel.
The first five symbols you will notice are the card values from 9 through Ace. All of them pay 2.5x your total bet for five-of-a-kind wins, but the payouts vary for smaller combinations. The 9 symbol, for instance, can pay even if only two symbols land, awarding 0.05x your total bet. Aces are also unique, paying 0.25x your total bet whenever three symbols appear. For four-of-a-kind wins, 9s, 10s, and Jacks award 0.25x the total bet, while Kings and Queens award 0.5x. Finally, landing four Aces awards 1.25x your total bet.
Most of the slot’s remaining symbols are illustrations of animals native to the U.S., and the icons with the lowest payouts are the Grizzly Bear and the Wolf. A five-of-a-kind win with either symbol pays 3x the total bet.
Next are the Black Puma and the American Bald Eagle, each paying 3.75x your total bet for five-of-a-kind. The final animal icon is a buffalo. The Buffalo symbol is unique because even two copies form a winning combination, paying 0.25x your total bet. For a five-of-a-kind win, it awards 7.5x your total bet.
These are not the only symbols that generate payouts. Buffalo Hunt also features a Scatter, represented by a large golden coin, which pays 0.5x your total bet when five appear anywhere on the reels. This icon also triggers free spins. The final symbol is a portrait of the chieftain, which serves as the Wild.
Buffalo Hunt Bonus Mechanics
The core feature of Buffalo Hunt is the Free Spins game mode, which is activated when three or more Scatter icons land during the base game. Landing two or more Scatters during Free Spins awards additional games, with the exact number depending on how many Scatters appear. Three Scatters grant 8 free spins, four Scatters award 15, and five Scatters award 20 free spins.
Another unique aspect of Free Spins is that Wild icons add either a 2x or 3x multiplier to any win from the current spin. The total multiplier can reach up to 27x.
The slot also includes a gamble game, which is available after any winning combination in the base game, provided your winnings do not exceed €55,000. The objective is simple: stake your winnings and guess the color of a face-down card.
If you guess correctly, your winnings are doubled, and you can continue playing for up to 10 gamble rounds. Alternatively, you can collect your winnings and exit the gamble mode. If you guess incorrectly, you lose the staked amount and return to the base game.
There is also a less risky option: you can choose to stake only half of your winnings. It is also worth noting that if the Joker is revealed, you win regardless of the color you picked, as this card substitutes for both colors.
Closing Thoughts
Buffalo Hunt can provide players with plenty of entertaining gaming sessions. The slot’s excellent design will satisfy even the pickiest graphics enthusiasts, and its gameplay is just as impressive. The free spins add excitement, and if you feel bold, you can use the gamble feature in the base game for a chance to increase your winnings.
