| Updated: The king of all animals, the mighty lion, has inspired the themes of dozens of online slot games, and this one comes straight from the Pragmatic Play catalog. Hot Safari takes you to the scorching African savannah, where zebras, elephants, rhinos, and meerkats roam. This 5-reel slot with 25 fixed winning lines features a super wild symbol, scatter symbols, and a lucrative free spins round.
Paytable and Payouts
The five reels spin against the sun-baked plains of the savannah. A variety of wild animals form the high-paying combinations. The slot’s name is emblazoned across the top of the reel casing, with flames licking the letters that spell the word “hot.” To the left of the fifth reel is a random multiplier reel that can boost your winnings from winning spins.
The highest regular base-game win is 400x the line bet for five elephants. Five rhinos result in a payout of 250x, while the same number of zebra symbols awards 200x. Five topi or meerkat symbols return 150x and 100x the line bet, respectively.
A, K, Q, J, and 10 are the low-value symbols, awarding between 3x and 75x your stake per line when you bet a single coin at the lowest level. Symbols pay from left to right on a payline. The only exception is the scatter, which pays in any position.
Extra Features and Symbols of Interest
Hot Safari offers several special features, starting with the wild lion symbol, which replaces all icons except the scatter. The wild awards 400 coins per coin wagered for five of a kind. When the lion appears in the middle row, it expands to cover all three positions on its reel. This happens both in the base game and during free spins.
The multiplier reel contains a super wild symbol. When it lands in the center position, a wild lion is added to each reel in a random position. If a wild lands in the center position, it stretches to fill the entire reel. The biggest possible win occurs when five wilds align across the middle row of all five reels and the 10x multiplier is applied.
The baboon symbol is the scatter and pays 1x your total bet. Landing three or more baboon scatters in the same spin activates 10 free spins. Players can win additional bonus spins during the feature by landing the same scatter combination. There is no limit to the number of times the free spins can be retriggered.
Recap
Hot Safari may not have the most original theme, but it is still worth considering, especially given its great winning potential. A top prize of 100,000x your line bet is certainly something to look forward to when playing this Pragmatic Play release.
