| Updated: This fast-paced live roulette variation is brought to you by the leading software vendor, Playtech. The betting action is fast and furious, as players have only a few seconds between spins to place their bets. This increases the pace of gameplay by 25% and makes Speed Roulette perfect for players who dislike waiting between rounds.
Rundown of the Rules and the Accepted Bets
Playtech’s Speed Roulette follows European rules and is played on a wheel featuring 36 red or black pockets and 1 green zero. The action unfolds in a studio setting, where you can see other dealers managing their tables in the background while the Speed Roulette croupier takes center stage.
Payouts are awarded for winning outside and inside wagers at the standard single-zero odds. You can also open the racetrack to place multi-chip bets on numbers covering specific sections of the wheel. These include bets on the Neighbors, Orphelins, Tiers, Finales en Plein, and Voisins.
Another interesting wager available in Speed Roulette is the Jeu 7/9. It covers all numbers ending in 7, 8, or 9 and requires two chips to cover straight-up bets on 19 and 27, plus four chips to cover the following splits: 7/8, 8/9, 17/18, and 28/29. You have only 10 seconds after the dealer announces the result to place your next bet.
Gaming Interface and Remarkable Features
The interface of Speed Roulette is easy to navigate, even for first-time players. The gaming controls beneath the live stream allow you to quickly refill your balance, clear your bets, or double them. In the upper-right corner, you will find two useful buttons. One allows you to tip the Playtech dealers, while the other opens the chat feature, where you can start a conversation with other players.
You can also add bets to your collection of favorite or frequently used wagers. The statistics panel shows the distribution of red/black, high/low, odd/even, dozen, and column results over the last 100, 200, 500, or 1,000 spins. Information about the hit frequency of special bets, such as Voisins and Orphelins, is also available. The statistics are also displayed as a pie chart.
Closing Thoughts
Playtech’s developers recognize that land-based and online casino players have different needs. Online gamblers are accustomed to playing at a faster pace, especially in randomly generated games. Speed Roulette is ideal for these players because it offers 25% faster gameplay in an authentic setting that resembles a land-based casino.
